Homebrew Know How brings you all the basics for those looking to make home brew real ale. With the increasing price and decreasing strength of pub beer more and more people are turning to home brew as a way of making good quality beer at a fraction of pub prices. We aim to bring you the know how of making homebrew from kits and homebrew from grain and hops and how to bottle and keg you beer plus homebrew beer recipes and information on homebrew equipment, homebrew supplies and the homebrew books that all craft brewers should own.
This is where most us begin. The homebrew equipment required is basic and the kits include full instructions. You can find more details on how to make homebrew from kits here as well as a selection of the best kits and the equipment you'll need to get started here.
While homebrew kits are cheap and simple, if we're honest the results fall a little short of pub quality and constrict you to the manufacturers recipe. Making Homebrew from grain and hops require the purchase of a couple of additional items of homebrew equipment and it takes longer to do but in my opinion, it's well worth the effort, you can go beyond making beer as good as you can buy in the pub to making beer superior to shop bought beers. Most of us start by bottling our homebrew beer, and then move onto kegging our homebrew beer which is quicker and simpler. Homebrew Know How brings you all the basics of serving your beer in a bottle, plastic barrel or using a Cornelius Keg system (my personal favourite).
To get you started we have some of our own homebrew recipes and user submitted homebrew recipes for you to try as you begin to experiment.
